Youth Ministries
At New Hope we understand that we all live in a dangerous world. Our children and teens face many risks and temptations. We believe that Christians have a responsibility to love and care for children, not only those in our church, but all children. The old saying is true, "it takes a community to raise a child."
At New Hope, we provide nursery and preschool care for the entire service every Sunday, opening at 10:15 a.m. We also provide classes for children and teens during the sermon time of the service. We require background checks for all our adult youth workers. We are committed to providing a caring and safe Christian environment for all youth who come.
Nursery and Pre-school
At New Hope, we provide nursery and preschool care for the entire service every Sunday, opening at 10:15 a.m. We require background checks for all our adult youth workers. We have cribs and rocking chairs in our nursery, and many toys and games for our toddlers. In our pre-school we teach a lesson every week about God and his love. For more information, contact our director Nancy Picinic at (661) 287-4551.
Children's Church
We provide classes for all children, in grades Kindergarten through grade six, every Sunday during the sermon time. Christian teachers lead the children through a Bible-based curriculum, and provide time for Christian crafts and other fun activities.
Our teachers demonstrate love and hope for all the children by modeling Jesus' example, and seeking to help children look to Jesus, as their hope and future.
Each summer New Hope subsidizes our pre-teens, ages 8 through 12, to attend a weeklong youth summer camp up in Big Bear, usually the second week of July. For more information contact our director, Harriet Carlisle, (323) 722-8787.
Teen Church
Our teens meet during the sermon time, except for the last Sunday of each month, when we ask them to enjoy the entire worship service. Christ-centered teachers lead the teens through Bible-based studies and discussions about real and relevant teen issues today.
Parents and teacher rotate to open their homes for a teen gathering one Sunday afternoon each month, where the teens can grow in their relationships with Jesus and one another.
Each summer New Hope subsidizes our teens to attend a weeklong youth summer camp up in Big Bear, usually the second week of July.
Each summer we lead a week-long mission trip to Mexico or another location for interested teens and their parents. For more information contact our Teen Outreach Leader, Mark Leon at (626) 398-0426.
