YOUTH MINISTRIES

A Mother’s Room is available in the back SW corner of the Sanctuary each week for mothers with infants during our service.

Nursery and Preschool Care is available beginning at 10:15 am and throughout the entire service downstairs in rooms #4 and #5.

Children’s Church – Open to those in Kindergarten through grade 6 during the sermon time in Classrooms #1, 2 and 3.

Teen Church – Open to those in grade 7 through grade 12 downstairs in Fellowship Hall, during the sermon time, with the exception of the last Sunday of each month.

TODAY’S ACTIVITIES

Bible Study – At 9:15 am in Classroom #2, Larry Omasta will lead the study – Zacchaeus, the Tax Collector– Luke 19:1-10.

Prayers and Counseling – Glen and Barbara McCutchan will be in the Prayer Room from 12 to 12:30 pm to pray for your concerns.

Church Potluck – Please join us in Fellowship Hall for our monthly potluck lunch and enjoy breaking bread with your church family.

A Gift For You – If this is your first time with us, we have a gift for you. Please stop by our Information Table in the back right after our worship service to sign our guest book and pick up your gift. Thank you for coming!

Thursday Morning Bible Study, Oct 2 – Led by Larry Omasta from 9:30 – 11 am at 1612 N. Roosevelt Ave, Pasadena. Currently, the book of Genesis is being studied. We’re in chapters 19-20. Coffee will be on.

Thursday Night Bible Class, Oct 2 – Led by Dr. Russell Duke from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in Classroom #3. We will begin our study of 2 Corinthians. There’s a seat reserved just for YOU, so please, come and join us.

Next Sunday, Oct 5 – Our sermon will be brought to us by our new pastor, Glen Weber. Communion will be offered. Jim Petty will give the 9:15 am Bible Study in Classroom #2 – The Widow’s Offering – Luke 21:1-4. 1st Sunday Small Group meeting – Classroom #3 – 12:30 pm. Spanish Speaking Bible Study – Classroom #4 – 12:30 pm.

Entertainment Coupon Books. The New Hope Choir will once again be selling Entertainment Coupon Books as a fundraiser to help defray some of the costs of our teens attending college through our College Scholarship Fund. The San Gabriel Valley and San Fernando Valley books are $20.00 each, and the Los Angeles book is $25.00. Please see any of our choir members if you would like to help make this fundraiser a whopping success!

PRAYER REQUEST: Clark Miller’s mother, Florence, who is 89, fell last Saturday morning and injured her leg. She went to the hospital and tests revealed a slight fracture in the pelvis. The doctor has advised complete bed rest for a couple of weeks to allow for healing. Your prayers for complete healing will be appreciated. PRAYER REQUEST: Elizabeth Yanez requests prayers for her daughter, Carla Urqullia, who is having quite a bit of stress in her life right now. Please pray for God's intervention and peace to prevail.

PRAYER REQUEST: Two friends of Don Hudson, Lorette Bagwell Overall and Brenda Thompson Crumpton, have had cancer for some time. Please pray for recovery, comfort, and financial help for them and their families.

PRAYER REQUEST: Elizabeth Yanez requests our prayers for pain that she's experiencing with the rotator cuff in the shoulder of her right arm. She had been waiting to have surgery performed, but it had to be postponed due to the insurance authorization not being approved in time. The surgery is rescheduled for Tuesday, November 4th. Please pray for relief from some of the pain as she awaits the surgery. She hopes to be able to attend church soon since she's missed the past two weeks due to constant pain.
